Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park

We drove to Alamosa, CO yesterday and decided to go up to the nearby Great Sand Dunes Nat;l Park. When we lived in Colorado Springs, CO back in the late seventies we used to go four-wheeling in this park, which was such fun. We only took photos this trip, however. The day was cloudy so there weren't the good shadows on the dunes, but the valley it extends into was so pretty I thought this would be a good pano shot. Another great day of exploring.....

Great shot, Susan, isn't it wonderful the diversity of this great land. Really enjoy your postings.

I remember the trips to the dunes. Those were fun. I wonder where the ol' Ramcharger is these days.

Thanks all! Yes, Conni...I am always amazed at how diverse the country is. You go from one wonder to another, it seems.

Vicki...I have really gotten into the pano shots since you sold me that camera! It just behaves itself so much better with pano's than my other one.

Pat...I am surprised you remember being at the sand dunes, that was so long ago! We were on the other side of these this time, we didn't take the time to try to four-wheel this time, either. It was still an interesting sight to see that huge area of sand sitting within that beautiful valley. Like it popped up out of nowhere!
