Windows to the Past

I promised myself I would finish this by the end of the week and I hope it is finished. I will have it critiqued by the WcW group and see what they think. I enjoyed doing this one, as I have all the paintings I have done from Roch's photos.

Looks great to me, Susan. Love the viewpoint and the title, too. Happy 4th Weekend!

Susan, this is fascinating. Beautifully executed w/such an interesting scene on the "other side". The contrast of the adobe color w/the blues/grns thru window makes for perfect complements & contrasting punch. The mud "cement" is done w/great sensitivity & believability.
I have one question though which troubles me in being completely satisfied with the whole view. I am having trouble interpreting what is on this side of the wall. Is this a shelf w/different shadows? If so, what is the dark on the right below the window. Is it a destroyed piece of the shelf? Maybe I'm seeing it like an optical illustion? Ruth Bodycott, bdycttdncr@yahoo.com
