We have had the pleasure of having our 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter, Aubrey, with us for a couple of days. She brought along her parents as well! We got in one painting session this morning and had a great time....she shows real promise! She painted a "life study" of Elmo, one of her favorite friends from Sesame Street. She really has good coordination and seemed to enjoy herself, I know for sure Grandma did! We held the painting session in "Grandma's Tudio" as she said. My tudio will be very quiet and lonely after today!

How wonderful! It's so much fun to share our painting passion with our grands, isn't it?
Aubrey has grown! I see she still has her red hair. :-) I always enjoy your posts about Aubrey since my granddaughter is about the same age. I haven't gotten to paint with Kateri yet, although I've painted with all her siblings and cousins at that age. They were all Elmo fans too.
Thanks Rhonda and Michelle! I know that all grandma's think their grandchildren are the world's smartest and most talented but I see signs in her of genius! Really! You have to say something to her just once and she retains it right away and uses it. I called her "Tootsie" when I was playing with her and she corrected me by saying her entire real name. I told her we could change her name to include Tootsie. From then on she said her name was Aubrey Tootsie Roper. When they were leaving I was carrying her out to their car for as many more hugs and kisses as I could get and I said "are you ready to hit the road, Jack?" and she immediately said "My new name is Aubrey Tootsie Jack Roper"! My DS and DIL will have to do some reteaching on that one...what have I done? LOL
