I went ahead and finished this. Sometimes things come together better than others and I am grateful that this morning's efforts turned out well and with no stupid moments during the construction. This is a perfect example of what I am trying more and more to do....paint the shapes (or in this case lift the shapes!) instead of the objects.
I am a watercolorist living in the desert Southwest, a native of that area. My husband and I enjoyed traveling in our motorhome and I have taken many photographs to be used as reference photos for future paintings on these trips. I have been painting since 2000, it is a passion for me and I have enjoyed exploring all the different subjects to paint; landscapes, florals, portraits, etc. Please feel free to comment below or at susanroper@cox.net.

Vicki's Bowl - Final
I went ahead and finished this. Sometimes things come together better than others and I am grateful that this morning's efforts turned out well and with no stupid moments during the construction. This is a perfect example of what I am trying more and more to do....paint the shapes (or in this case lift the shapes!) instead of the objects.
Wow, having seen the work in progress shots I am even more impressed. I LOVE IT!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes...I love the WIP photos too...It really helps set an idea in my mind...Beautiful refelections on this final piece Susan.:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ladies! I had this critiqued, also, at the April Vanguard Artists' Meeting and it was well-received. So, I guess I will remove it from the work board and mat and frame it. I want to do a series of glass in sepia now. Should be interesting and challenging, but I liked doing it in this technique so will continue on.
ReplyDeleteYou've taken your sepia painting to a new level this time, Susan. Those reflections are just super!
