I am a watercolorist living in the desert Southwest, a native of that area. My husband and I enjoyed traveling in our motorhome and I have taken many photographs to be used as reference photos for future paintings on these trips. I have been painting since 2000, it is a passion for me and I have enjoyed exploring all the different subjects to paint; landscapes, florals, portraits, etc. Please feel free to comment below or at susanroper@cox.net.

This is such a strong painting (beautiful too). The colors are wonderful. I would love to see how you matt and frame this one.
Susan... this is absolutely stunning. Hope you have some Giclees made up and knock their socks off at the upcoming fall shows. The original should certainly merit a ribbon or two.
Congratulations.
Thanks Vicki...This has a double white mat and is in a simple, metal frame. The frame is a brushed metal frame that has a mauve cast to the silver color. It is not a shiny metal frame.
Carol...I am considering the Giclee possibilities for this but this strong vertical format would necessitate finding frames in that narrow, tall style also. So, we will have to see. I am hoping the original does attract some notice though!
Thanks ladies, I appreciate the feedback and like this one myself!
Well done, Susan! The colors make my mouth water - and the shadows add so much to the composition. Good luck on any shows you enter this one in - it should be a winner!
GOR...geous!!! Superb values! :)
Hello Susan,
I stumbled upon your blog and saw your Prickly Pears in Burgundy.
Absolutely beautiful!! Can I ask what green(s) you used on the pads?
