Watercolors by Susan Roper

I am a watercolorist living in the desert Southwest, a native of that area. My husband and I enjoyed traveling in our motorhome and I have taken many photographs to be used as reference photos for future paintings on these trips. I have been painting since 2000, it is a passion for me and I have enjoyed exploring all the different subjects to paint; landscapes, florals, portraits, etc. Please feel free to comment below or at susanroper@cox.net.

Monroe, LA

We had a very good day on the road today, lots of wind but after we got out of Texas, it settled into a warm breeze. We stopped for the night in Monroe, LA, the first photo is of our campsite here. The second photo is of a magnolia plucked from the tree of our office person here at the campground, a friendly southern lady named Betty. This thing was the size of a dinner plate! We sure can't grow these on the desert! We will try to get across Mississippi tomorrow, and on to Alabama. Everything is going well so far.
